Inmates calling mobile phones from their prison phone system incur high costs of up to $1.00 per minute plus a connection fee. When you join Callio, you receive a local land line number that the inmate adds to their prison phone system to contact you on. Their calls to you are then charged at the same cheap rate as a local call.
The savings to the inmate and their families is significant allowing inmates to make better use of their funds for buy-ups and other items available for them to purchase.
Never be uncontactable
If your mobile phone is in an area where there is no network reception, but it is connected to Wi-Fi, you will continue to be able to receive voice calls from inmates through the Callio app.
